Verdana Pro

Matthew Carter originally designed Verdana for Microsoft specifically for the screen. Its clarity and versatility — and hinting from Tom Rickner — have withstood the medium’s limitations. More than 20 years later, now Verdana Pro, it is still among the most legible, usable fonts on the Web. David Berlow has since expanded the family with help from David Jonathan Ross, adding three new weights, a Condensed width of five weights, and small caps in Roman and Italic, totaling 20 styles. Verdana Pro includes a character set that supports all languages using Latin, Cyrillic, and Greek alphabets. This makes Carter & Cone’s Verdana Pro an intriguingly adaptable, modern sans fit for print and mobile use. [carterandcone.com]
