About
Atlas of Type is a directory of contemporary type design, with a focus on active, independent type designers and foundries who distribute their fonts through a dedicated web presence and/or through a small selection of reputable networks. The Atlas currently lists 12100 typefaces from 652 foundries, with information revised and consolidated on an ongoing basis. More about my methodology and conventions.
Atlas of Type is a one-person operation started in 2024 by Dan Cătălin Burzo. You can reach me at contact@type-atlas.xyz for enquiries, additions, and corrections. I’m also happy to receive mail about new and upcoming typeface releases.
Colophon
The website is built with Eleventy, with a search function powered by Pagefind. The typeface used throughout is Taurus Grotesk by Dave Foster.
