A slightly irreverent contribution to the geometric sans genre, Spoof takes cues from rationalist predecessors like Futura, Neuzeit Grotesk and Avant Garde, but subverts the style with some exaggerated proportions and more grotesque elements. Strict geometry and orthogonal terminals lend the illusion of calm uniformity; uncomfortably tight aperatures, some unbalanced forms, and an ungainly underbite in the open-bowled glyphs undermine that feeling of precision, creating a gawkish look.
