PoW Covenant

PoW Covenant is a contemporary interpretation of the Scotch Roman typefaces of the early 19th century. If Scotch Roman were an intermediate stage between transitional and modern faces, PoW Covenant is “between” Display and Text. Its dry structure underlines the process of mechanization and standardization applied to text typefaces at that time. The removal of expected tear drops and the low contrast leaves only the skeletal construction to express the historical forms. The heavier weights refer more to Clarendons and slab serif typefaces, which are a continuation of this mechanization process. Italics are the contemporary counterpart to this reflection. They formally express all the simplification and construction principles of the design without any historical reference. The results are condensed and dynamic italics. [proof-of-words.com]
