Pompeji is inspired by the Pompeian Graffiti. Properties, forms and emotions of the graffiti translated into a contemporary context. Their accuracy and pointed shapes also indicate the use of the stylus and the act of scratching. At that time, these graffiti were scratched into walls with a pointed object. This is taken up again by the fine stroke width in Pompeji. It is geometrically constructed and at the same time odd and fluid. The main features of the font are its static and line-like attitude with breaks in ascenders and descenders and the many connections that can be made with neighboring letters. In addition, the numerous, ligatures and alternative letters create a unique typeface, as was seen in Pompeii at the time. [skrr-type.com]
