Niagara

While not a revival in the strictest sense of the word, Niagara recalls the crisp, elegant geometry found in some of the best American styles from the 1930s and 1940s. The four condensed weights were designed by Tobias Frere-Jones, who found inspiration in the straight-sided geometric fonts from that era. With its mixture of weights, and Engraved styles, Niagara offers the typographer unusual opportunities. [store.typenetwork.com]

Originally released by Font Bureau in 1994 and moved to Frere–Jones Type in 2020 [fontsinuse.com], available through Type Network and added to the foundry’s website in December 2024.
