LTC Goudy Open was designed by Frederic Goudy and inspired by a caption on a French engraving. It is Goudy’s first attempt at a “modern” typeface but with less contrast and rigidity. The familial bonds throughout the Goudy families allow them to easily pair together to create a more interesting typographic hierarchy. Imagine using them all together in a cookbook for breadmaking, a dictionary for botanists, or a magazine for fellow craftspeople. [p22.com]
