LTC Garamont is an elegantly deferent revival of Frederic Goudy’s serif in the Garamond-style of typefaces. Goudy intended his freehand drawings to be cut precisely as he had drawn them and fought with the workmen at Lanston to keep them from “correcting” his work. In 2001, Jim Rimmer digitized Garamont in Display and Text weights. The Display weight is based on the actual metal outlines, while the Text weight is ever-slightly heavier and more appropriate for general digital text work. [p22.com]
