Jobim draws its primary inspiration from the French classic Vendome (likely the most famous modern Old Face), designed by Francois Ganeua in 1951, but drifts away from a historical revival infusing a vernacular approach based on the lettering from the poster of Orfeu Negro. Replacing the dynamic, expressive flow of Vendome with a simpler, more orthogonal axis, Jobim manages to be both brutal and elegant.
