ES Park is a “more or less” baroque serif typeface designed by Xavier Erni (Neo Neo) and developed by Lisa Schultz. Its curves are inspired by the shapes of two famous predecessors: Clarendon and American Typewriter. Due to its design features and thick, block-like serifs, it can be classified as a Slab Serif (also known as Mechanistic, Antique, or Egyptian). However, its serifs are designed slightly narrower than those of other slabs. The thinner weights are drawn with less contrast than the heavier ones, making it highly legible at smaller sizes while remaining very impactful in bolder texts. It is perfectly suited to grabbing the reader’s attention. In its default version, the terminals are designed as mini-serifs, adding a subtle ornamental aesthetic to the typeface. [extraset.ch]
