Elmira was the final project I did during Typemedia. It is a family inspired by the process that type goes through when being woven in industrial power looms. The styles influenced and inspired each other, so they share similar design approaches, metrics and sometimes letter structures. The family pack consists of 3 main sets of styles, a sans grotesque for small typesetting, and 4 "loom" display versions, two vertical and two horizontal (which indicates the direction of the grid). This is a versatile family that can work well together or be broken apart, because of the styles personalities. All the loom display styles can be paired, juxtaposed or layered giving a lot of choices to the end user. Color fonts have also been added to the pack, so this woven front-back layered characteristic of the font can be featured in web and apps. [futurefonts.com]
