Diolce Display is a font inspired by the mascarons from the city of Bordeaux. Made in Italy during the Renaissance, this sculpture type spread throughout Western Europe thanks to trade. Slightly condensed, Diolce Display expresses itself through flared serifs. The calligraphic based design of the font is inspired by the Roman Capital ductus. The contrasts between solid and smooth lines reproduce the plant details finely chiseled by the craftsman's hand and tool. The shapes have been radicalised and the x-height taken up to get a more modern line. [entravaux.framer.website]
