Brill

The Brill types were commissioned in 2008 by the venerable Dutch academic publishing company Koninklijke Brill, with the goal of establishing a consistent house style across the typography of their many book series and journals. Brill began publishing at Leiden in 1683, and the range of humanities subjects they now cover requires many specialised characters, including extensive symbol sets, phonetic notation alphabets, historical letters and numbers, and diacritics for both modern orthographies and transcription of ancient languages.
