Auroc is a pre-historic ‘workhorse’ type family. It comes in five weights, italics and in three optical sizes – Small, Text and Display. The upright roman has sharp incised serifs with strokes that terminate like knife cuts and joints between curves and stems etched with sharp notches. In contrast, the italic has a faster flow, softer curves and imitates pointed-brush lettering. With three optical sizes Auroc is an ideal editorial typeface. It works as well in large headlines as it does in running text, paragraphs, and even footnotes and references. [eastofrome.com]
