Anon Grotesk, specifically designed for display use, was developed over a period of several years and evolved to become a highly refined reductionist neo-grotesque. It is free of dated, historical limitations that many revivals share, while still being shaped by characteristic Swiss design principles. Symmetry, balance, rhythm and nuance combine to create a fresh, contemporary take on this revered genre. All together, Anon Grotesk transcends its individually drawn letterforms with a familial cohesion characterized by isotropic, sculptural qualities. Envisioned through a hypercritical design lens, the aim of Anon Grotesk was to solve various issues found among past neo-grotesque typeface releases. Foremost this includes the burden of reviving overly dated and aggrandized designs. Anon Grotesk distinguishes itself from others in the genre that are bound by relatively crude, imbalanced, or flawed letterforms, all of which, conceptually, are overlooked contradictions of Swiss design principles. Anon Grotesk represents purity of form and intent, not designed by committee, nor compromised by decisions unfounded in a display face. [aesthetictype.com]
