Alarm was published in 1928 by the Trennert type foundry in Hamburg-Altona. One of the last designs by freelancer Heinz König. Alarm can certainly be seen as a reworking of Louis Oppenheim's Fanfare, which was published by H. Berthold AG in 1927. The Alarm typeface did not enter the digital realm until 2017. Andreas Seidel digitized the typeface for Fust & Friends, referring several type specimens of the original metal and wood type versions as well as the result of a special 2016 printing session with 72pt Alarm foundry type. After Jan Middendorp closed the micro foundry Fust & Friends in October 2021, this font can still be licensed via astype fonts. [astype.de]
