A look at the type releases of the past week.
- CAST released Sole Serif Rounded by Giulio Galli and Luciano Perondi, a softer version of the newspaper typeface Sole Serif (via Typecache).
- Public Type released Cina Sans, a neo-grotesque sans by Michael Cina.
- Displaay expanded Matter and Haffer into collections of proportional, semi-mono, and monospaced variants. More details in the announcement.
Jessica Walsh established a new type foundry named Type of Feeling. The initial offering includes typefaces by several designers:
- from Cristi Bordeianu: Conforto, a geometric sans and Elysian, a transitional serif with contemporary details.
- from Laura Csocsán: Jubel, an exuberant ultrabold sans and Satori, a geometric sans based on the interplay of circles and straight angles.
- from Sanchit Sawaria: Onsra, a mixed-width, uppercase-only sans and Serein, a light, high-contrast sans.
- from Muhittin Güneş: Ssonder, a mixed-width serif.
On the website, I’ve added a new tag called Design process. It lists all typefaces for which a link with background information is available. (More such links to be added soon.)
I’ve also implemented sorting by column for to all tables on the website.
